Built for Singapore applications

Your work status in one line

Use the optional visa status field for 'Singapore Citizen', 'Permanent Resident' or your pass type, so the recruiter knows at once whether a work pass is involved.

Bring your old CV with you

Import a PDF or Word resume and the form fills in for you to review. Handy when you last touched your resume two jobs ago.

Clean for job portals and ATS

Every template uses real, selectable text with nothing baked into images, so job portals and applicant tracking systems read your resume properly. A4 by default.

What employers in Singapore expect on a resume

01

State citizenship or pass type

Whether you are a Singapore Citizen, a Permanent Resident or on a pass such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Dependant's Pass affects how an employer can hire you. One line in your personal details answers it.

02

Leave off your NRIC number

Do not put your NRIC number on your resume; data protection guidance limits when organisations may collect it. The Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices also discourage employers from asking about age, race, religion, marital status and family responsibilities unless the job requires it, so those details can go too.

03

A photo is optional

Photos are optional in Singapore. Some candidates include a professional headshot and many leave it off; nobody will mark you down for leaving it out.

04

One to two pages, results first

One page suits fresh graduates, and two pages is normal for experienced professionals. Lead your bullets with results and numbers, and keep older roles short.

05

Notice period and National Service

Recruiters ask about notice periods early, so state yours in your summary or personal details. Many Singaporean men also list full-time National Service with dates and any leadership role, which helps graduates with little work history.

Singapore resume questions

Resume or CV in Singapore?

Both words are used for the same document, and employers understand either. Keep it to one or two A4 pages focused on experience and results.

Should I include my NRIC number?

No. Keep it off your resume. Employers ask for identity details when they need them, usually at the offer stage.

Should I state my expected salary?

Not on the resume. Many application forms and recruiters ask for current and expected salary; answer there, where you can give context.

British or American spelling?

British spelling is the norm in Singapore: organisation, programme, colour. Whichever you use, keep it consistent.

Is CVFalcon free?

Making and previewing your resume is free in every template, with no account. To download the PDF, you buy the CVFalcon Pass once for $9: unlimited downloads and no subscription.
