HSE officer CV and resume example

HSE managers read for your certificates, site size and incident record. Gulf contractors and oil and gas clients expect a recognised qualification such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely or OSHA 30-Hour, and many recruiters filter on it first. They also want your lost-time injury rate, the permit-to-work systems you ran and how you handled heat stress on site.

How to write an HSE officer CV

  1. Put your safety qualifications near the top with the year, for example 'NEBOSH IGC (2019), OSHA 30-Hour (2021)', whether your title is HSE officer or safety officer.
  2. Describe the site you covered with numbers, such as '900 workers, 6 subcontractors and 2.6 million man-hours in 12 months'.
  3. Show results as rates and closures, like 'zero lost-time injuries' or 'closed 94% of audit findings within 7 days'.
  4. Name the controls you ran yourself, for example 'issued 40 hot work, confined space and lifting permits a week and ran heat stress checks through the summer midday break'.
