What employers in Saudi Arabia expect on a CV
State your iqama status clearly
If you already live in the Kingdom, a line such as 'Iqama: valid until March 2027, transferable' tells the recruiter you can join without a new visa from abroad. Labour reforms in 2021 made it easier for many expatriate workers to change employers, but the conditions depend on your contract, so write 'transferable' only if you have checked.
Saudi nationals: say so near the top
The Nitaqat programme rates private companies by the share of Saudi nationals they employ, so many employers actively look for Saudi candidates. Put your nationality first in your personal details. Some job ads are open to Saudi nationals only, so read the ad before you apply.
Spell your name the way your passport does
Arabic names have many English spellings, such as Mohammed, Muhammad and Mohamed. Use the exact spelling from your passport on your CV, your certificates and every application form, because offer letters and visa paperwork are prepared from them.
Accreditation for regulated jobs
Engineers need accreditation from the Saudi Council of Engineers, and healthcare practitioners need registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. If yours is done or in progress, say so near the top. Many employers also ask for attested degree certificates, so note it if yours already are.
Photo, two pages and English first
A professional photo is common on Saudi CVs, and two A4 pages is normal for experienced candidates. English is the working language of many private-sector employers; Arabic is a real advantage in customer-facing and government-linked roles, so list it with your level.

Saudi CV questions
How do I write my iqama status on a CV?
Keep it to one factual line in your personal details, for example 'Iqama: valid until March 2027, transferable'. Add 'transferable' only if you have confirmed you can move to a new employer. If you live outside the Kingdom, write something like 'Based in Cairo, requires employment visa'.
Should I put my iqama number on my CV?
No. Say that you hold a valid iqama and when it expires, and give the number only when an employer asks for it during onboarding. The same goes for your passport number.
Should I put a photo on my CV for Saudi Arabia?
It is common and many recruiters expect one, but it is not required. Use a recent, professional headshot in business dress against a plain background, or leave it off when the employer asks for none. The photo field in CVFalcon is optional.
Do I need an Arabic CV for jobs in Saudi Arabia?
Usually not for private-sector roles, where an English CV is standard. Some government and semi-government employers work mainly in Arabic, and a few ask for an Arabic version. If you speak Arabic, list it under Languages with your level.
