How to write a civil engineer CV

  1. Lead each role with the project: type, value, size and your position, for example 'site engineer on a AED 420M, 38-storey residential tower'.
  2. Report delivery in numbers: weeks ahead of programme, cost saved, rework cut or man-hours without a lost-time injury.
  3. Name the contracts, codes and tools you work with, such as FIDIC, Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D or ETABS.
  4. Put professional registration and safety training near the top, such as chartered status or PMP, and NEBOSH or IOSH certificates.
