Employers hire drivers on licence, safety record and local road knowledge. They check your licence category, how long you have held it, the vehicles you drove and any accident or fine history. How to write a driver CV
- Put your licence first with the class and the year, for example 'UAE heavy truck licence since 2018, light vehicle licence since 2014'.
- Say what you drove and where, such as 'truck and trailer on daily Jebel Ali to Abu Dhabi container runs' or 'company car for a general manager'.
- Show your safety record in numbers, such as 'no accidents and no traffic fines in seven years' or '1,800 trips without a cargo claim'.
- Add the checks and records you keep, such as daily vehicle inspections, trip logs and delivery notes, plus a defensive driving certificate.
