Welder CV and resume example

Welding supervisors read for process, position and the code you tested to. A line such as '6G, SMAW and GTAW, ASME Section IX, carbon and stainless steel' says more than a job title, and so do your pipe sizes, weld repair rate and drawing skills. Gulf employers and recruitment agencies also run a practical trade test, so claim only the positions you can pass.

How to write a welder CV

  1. Name your processes, positions and code on one line, for example 'SMAW and GTAW, 6G, carbon steel and 316L, ASME Section IX'.
  2. Give a quality result, such as '98.5% first-time pass on radiographic testing across about 1,400 joints' or 'weld repair rate under 2%'.
  3. State the pipe sizes, schedules and thicknesses you welded, like '6 to 24 inch, Schedule 40 to 160, up to 25 mm wall'.
  4. Show you work from drawings and procedures, such as 'read isometrics and WPS without supervision', and list safety tickets like confined space entry and working at height.
