Domestic helper CV and resume example

Agencies and families hire helpers they can trust with a home and children. They ask about your past employers, the countries and years you worked, the size of each household and the exact duties you did, such as childcare, cooking and cleaning. Hong Kong and Gulf agencies often ask for finished contract dates, a TESDA Domestic Work NC II (Household Services NC II on older certificates), your languages and a reference from your last employer.

How to write a domestic helper CV

  1. List each employer with country, years and household size, for example 'Hong Kong, 2021 to 2025, family of 4 with two children aged 3 and 7'.
  2. Write duties as plain facts, such as 'cooked Chinese and Western meals daily, did school pick-up and cleaned a 750 sq ft flat'.
  3. Show your training and skills, for example 'TESDA Household Services NC II, 2016' (now called Domestic Work NC II), plus infant care, elderly care and pet care if you have done them.
  4. State your status clearly, such as 'finished contract in Hong Kong, available for a new employer', and list your languages, like English and basic Cantonese.
